New Mineral Foundation Shades... In the fall Buff'd formulated seven new foundation colors further expanding our shade selection. Porcelain, a pure white foundation, was developed so clients can lighten foundations that they have that may be too dark. Biscuit (balanced), Cornsilk (yellow) and Fawn (pink) became our fairest foundation line while Lace (balanced), Antique (yellow) and Magnolia (pink) were added to provide even more choice for those clients with light skin tones. In response to customer requests we have just recently formulated five new foundation shades with heavier yellow undertones. Together Sand, Chamois, Ginger, Moccasin and Saffron provide an even wider range of foundation shade depths for those clients who require significant yellow in their Mineral Foundation. In celebration of all these new shades we have put our entire Mineral Foundation collection on sale. Now you can stock up for the coming year as all our full size foundations are $12.00 CAD. A Fall Fashion Shoot In September Buff'd Cosmetics was approached by aboriginal fashion designer, Nadine Spence of Rev/Evo, to provide Mineral Cosmetics for use on models at an upcoming fashion shoot to be aired on two Canadian television stations. Rev/Evo designs and manufactures clothing and accessories using natural fabrics and dyes. Nadine thought that our mineral cosmetics, natural colors formulated using natural ingredients, would be the perfect compliment - and we agreed. So, Buff'd Cosmetics, along with makeup artists Komal and Kelly, travelled to picturesque Spences Bridge, British Columbia for the two-day shoot. We supplied a fantastic selection of our mineral cosmetics and also formulated several new foundation shades to accommodate the diverse skin tones of the models. Adding a small amount of water, Komal applied the foundations using her airbrush with flawless results. We had a fantastic time, met some great people and took a lot of pictures, some of which we have added to our new News and Events page on our website. Be sure to check it out! |
Sample Packs Have Arrived We know that it is hard finding the right color - whether it be a foundation, blush or eye shadow. And we know that you don't want to spend a fortune in the process. To help you find the right colors for an affordable price Buff'd Cosmetics has now put together sample packs for all our mineral powders. Available in several options, our sample jars are more generous than most - containing about a quarter the amount of a full-size jar, not simply 1/4 teaspoon. And with our 6 jar and 8 jar variety packs you can have it all... foundations, setting powders, blushes, bronzers, eye shadows and pigments. All with enough product to last at least a few weeks if not a few months! New and Improved Blush Formulations and Some Great New Colors Too In mid November Buff'd re-formulated several of our existing blush shades as well as adding some stunning new colors in the process. Our blushes are now made with a base of Titianium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide - similar to our foundations. This new formulation will allow for a smoother application and appearance giving cheeks a radiant dewy glow while remaining water-resistant and providing UV-ray protection. By late November we were looking for a little inspiration... so we asked forum members at Mineral Makeup Mania to submit their ideas for a new blush in the hopes of winning three full jars of the new color. We are pleased to announce that Traci won by inspiring us to create a shimmering peachy pink shade similar in color to a widely popular non-mineral blush. Our creation, Tricky Mineral Blush, peachy-pink with shimmer, has now been formulated and is available for purchase on our website. Thank you to all who entered! Up and Coming We have big plans for 2007 as well. We plan to add more beautiful blush colors including some face shimmers and highlighting shades. We will also be further expanding our foundation and concealer selections as well as launching our new Mineral Color Correction line. Mineral Lip Glosses will begin formulation shortly as we hope to have them available for purchase in the next couple months.
